What's a word of your language stemming from another one which you despise?

In the german language, for me it's "handy", a german word used for the today's "smartphone". Quite some germans travel abroad, and when they get to talk about smartphones, they always say "this is my handy" and others are like "your what?"

I know a guy from Georgia who served in Germany for a couple of years, and when he returned to the US, he used the word "handy" instead of cellphone.
"My handy comes in handy." 😁

@helenS I've overheard two americans spending two years in Germany talk to each other, the one said "are we gonna stay by those people today" instead of "at those" since it's "bei den Leuten" which they grew used to saying instead.
