I find it rude too, just thought I would see if anyone else knew what it meant.

@calicuz it's just a way for some millennials to not be bothered with thinking, but still having a put down for the older generation that they think is clever.
But, I have to tell you kids, I can take it as a compliment, too.
As ,when I say something you don't like, so you say "Okay, Boomer"
I'm going to take that as "you're right Boomer."
Even though I'm actually generation X, but, I usually don't have the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

K see i do have a problem with this thou. Call us kids and then bring up crayons? Like thats why it all started. Youre talking down to us

@SW-User still! theres plenty of peeps i want to say ok boomer to but i dont cuz it cant just be one person. Its a generalized statement. I say that to one im saying it to all of them

And that's the point I was trying to make that people who go around saying this as an insult, not the whole group, are absurd.
That is not insulting the whole group.
It was meant to be funny and sorry you are taking it so to heart.
But ,no if you "insult" one person you are not insulting the whole group unless you say ALL which I didn't.
Or name individuals,
which I would never do.
When I was young, like you ,I use to joke with my friends this way; we could do this and no one got upset.
Not meant to be taken seriously at all.

It's just as rude ad our "Whatever" of the 80's as it's dismissive and not necessary.
And I said nothing to some youngster here
Not talking about anything at all and she still said "okay, Boomer", so ,yes, some people do use it as an insult based on age.

And honestly people have a right to their own opinion if they are not buying what you're saying walk away.

@LvChris I had no problem with her first point I do think it is rude I think it is best to disagree on things and try to explain yourself instead of saying something like whatever or okay Boomer.
you can believe it or not but my response was a joke post and everyone is taking it too seriously, maybe myself included, but I still have a right to my opinion and the right to the opinion that it's rude.
your post sound a bit defensive too, but I didn't bring that up ,as it's hard to tell what someone is meaning on the internet at times.
I have never really had a problem with you or lava so, I just don't get why my post couldnt have been taken in the manner it was meant to be taken as a joke.
And just to make it clear I was never criticizing her, ever, I was trying to explain myself.

@TryingtoLava I honestly was just trying to express my opinion.
I wasn't trying to fight with anyone and I never had a problem with you.
I took the last remark he made as a joke and I hope he did the same with mine.
