According to CNN, Amazon forest fires are due to cutting trees for cattle by beef farmers. I am thinking where does farmers grow their crops? On trees?

They cut down the trees so they can have farmland for growing crops and grazing cattle.

@JBird I didn't know they were. I guess because the cattle are needed for meat-eaters.
