Do you really think anyone in the world beside some hardcore reps take's the US serious after that big child annulled his visit to Denmark??

The people of Greenland offered to buy the USA instead, maybe that's a better idea. 馃槀

The idea to buy Greenland made much more strategic sense than to invade Iraq, topple Libya's government, occupy Afghanistan for two decades to bring democracy, human rights and the rule of law to that country, support Saudia Arabia's genocidal war against Yemen, bomb Yugoslavia, expand NATO to Russia's borders and support Al Qaeda in order to topple Syrian president Assad.

It is telling that so many politicians, political commmentators and the media have attacked Trump for trying to buy Greenland while supporting him when he attacked Syria.

@Mugin16 That's true, the problem was his reaction when his idea was rejected.

@Cierzo Correct. Also such a proposal should not be made public and not be proposed by a head of state or government. For that you have professional diplomats who quietly and politely ask their counterparts if they might be interested to sell that piece of land. If the reply is negative, nobody will hear of it until the relevant papers are released to the public 30 (or more) years later.

@Mugin16 In things like this it shows that Trump is a businessman, not a politician.

@kingkyri I get your point. I doubt the American public learnt about the Truman administration's offer to buy Greenland in 1946.

@Cierzo He is not a statesman nor a diplomat. Most Western politicians are not better - just quieter.
