I know he waffled on about "make America great again", but wasn't "America First" also one of His Nibs' campaign slogans? If so, I wonder if he knows its origins?
The USSR and other Communist regimes used to accuse the USA of "hegemony" and "imperialism". Though was very much pots calling kettle black, they had a point!
The BBC Radio Four current-affairs programme Today interviewed a leading American this morning, and raised President Truman's offer to buy Greenland in 1946. I think this chap is or was Ambassador to Denmark, but certainly far more knowledgeable than Trump. He pointed out you cannot compare the attempts because Truman was concerned with security in the Arctic before NATO. It doesn't apply now because Denmark including Greenland, are NATO members.
