Has anyone ever given you a wedgie or a swirly?

For me, a wedgie, probably. I'm not sure. As for a swirly, I really don't remember if I've ever gotten my head shoved in a toilet. What about you? Anyone ever been given one of these? Or did any of you give anyone else one of these?

If anyone tried a swirly on me I'd consider it assault...seriously.

I'm not even sure it happens to people outside of high school, but I could be wrong. I know that's a whole middle-high school or college thing.

@TheDarkestZero: probably a junior high thing, it was common when I was going to school in junior high for guys to de-pants the younger guys across the street after school, or to rack them. Swirlies came later and I didn't believe it at first that anyone ever did it.

@cherokeepatti: I know, it always seemed like a bizarre thing to do, but it was always shown in TV shows, cartoons, and movies. I have never witnessed or heard about anyone getting swirlied at my school. Maybe once in middle school but I don't remember.

@TheDarkestZero: I heard a cousin say that his friends gave a guy a swirly at school one time, the guy had a smart mouth. Even so I was horrified that anyone would do that.

@cherokeepatti: Wow. I've never really encountered bullying as bad as the media makes it out to be. I've never seen a group of bullies beating up a helpless kid, I've never seen them swirly anybody, or give anybody a serious wedgie...the most I've experienced was serious name-calling and being pushed around.

@TheDarkestZero: Things are different now. People can be sued if their kid does something bad to another kid, and schools are held accountable if they see students doing that. Seemed like when the weather had turned good in the early spring there was always something going on right across the street from the junior high, guys getting into fights, multiple fights, girl fights, guys getting wedgies or getting racked, etc. The principle knew it back then but rarely intervened or intervened too late. We'd be waiting for the bus which might take 15-20 minutes watching the show across the street.
