What was the worst birthday or Christmas present that a family member bought you?

ThePerfectUsername · 70-79, M
A great aunt once got me a bottle of HP Sauce for Christmas and when I failed to hide my disappointment she hit me on the top of the head with a rolling pin. Don't get me wrong. I love HP Sauce. Just don't get me it for Christmas! I think I was about 10 at the time.

Wow...I'd have been tempted to shove it in one of your great aunt's orifices. @ThePerfectUsername

I didn't need to. My mother hit her for me and all of a sudden christmas cheered right back up. :-) @pennynoodles

One of my ex-SILs gave me a cracked candle holder that still had the 0.99 cent sticker on it and a Christmas card her "daughter" had recycled from cards they'd gotten from other people.

For the record, these people are very well-to-do.
pennynoodles · 56-60, F
Lovely. I had an opened bottle of wine from a child at school. @LucyFuhr

@pennynoodles Lord have mercy.
For that child's sake, I hope it was the parents and not the kid that tested it out for you first LOL
pennynoodles · 56-60, F
It was the parent.......I think.

A garlic press.
pennynoodles · 56-60, F
Useful though.....if you like garlic.@TamAngel
TamAngel · F
@pennynoodles I used it once, then went back to my trusty santoku.
Long ago, one of my relatives gave me an oil painting of Neptune (she had painted it) in a huge gilt frame. My sister teased that it was my “fault” for encouraging the cousin in her ambitions as an artist.
pennynoodles · 56-60, F
Did it get put up in your 'outside loo'? ha ha @bijouxbroussard
@pennynoodles Lol, it’s in a closet somewhere. 😅
1GHOST · M
