I have a theory that the infinity sign was originally supposed to look like boobs.

You know, the sideways 8. I bet it’s supposed to look like a pair of boobs because boobs mean “infinite fun”. Right?

It's not fun if there's back pain

@Melpomene 😂 Well, fun for men. And that’s all that matters when it comes to history.

[quote]John Wallis is credited with introducing the infinity symbol with its mathematical meaning in 1655, in his De sectionibus conicis. Wallis did not explain his choice of this symbol, but it has been conjectured to be a variant form of a Roman numeral for 1,000 (originally CIƆ, also CƆ), which was sometimes used to mean "many", or of the Greek letter ω (omega), the last letter in the Greek alphabet.

if it was supposed to portray boobs I'm guessing he'd use ω

@InvaderNice Tbh I don't think boobs were such a sexual object back in the days (17 century lol) and that they were more of a food for babies
