Whats the deal with those huge gaps in american toilet stalls ?

I think the gap above the floor is to make it easier for the janitors? And maybe to hand a roll underneath to the person next to you if they run out, hahaha.

But the door gap... shitty building for sure. Possibly intentional on the part of a pervy engineer who probably has an account here.
