Surf SW/internet first then ask/ post or ask/post first then surf SW/internet?

I don't ask many questions. Mostly I answer them. I love when someone asks a question that requires some research before responding. I also like stories that encourage doing some digging and looking for information. Like somebody talking about traditions in their homeland. I'm off and running. Learning what I can. It's very exciting to me.
