@pennynoodles I'd say money can buy a person happiness, or increase one's pleasure in life. If a person derives happiness from helping other people, their ability to help others would be greatly increased if they had a billion dollars in the bank, and buying food, etc for people who need it is essentially buying themselves happiness because they know they are legit helping people out, people who are too poor and powerless to do anything for themselves.
If a person is an avid RC airplane guy, buying himself a plane is essentially buying himself happiness because now he can pursue his hobby to whatever extent he would like to and have increased pleasure on the weekends.
Having money isn't the magic pill that cures all and we've seen that time and time again. Celebrities with money up the ass killing themselves because they don't know how to live life. But if one does know how to experience happiness and live life, money can be the vehicle that gets someone into a state of experiencing much more pleasure in life.
