Judicial punishments

Since jail is so inefficient and so expansive , do you think judicial corporal punishments ( such as whipping, birthing, electric shocks etc... ) should be reintroduced in our countries . For what kind of offenses ? For both gender ? At any age ? In private or publicly ?
What is your opinion or suggestion ?
