No, I would pay my workers. However we can pay in different ways. What they called slavery was not always what we think of as hard labor and ownership. Many people have free rent in exchange for babysitting, or housecleaning, or being a nanny etc. They don't get paid but in the Biblical times they called it slavery but it wasn't really, they chose to work for free rent. I would possibly give free rent to someone taking care of the house and cooking etc. Especially if I was sick and they couldn't afford rent.
