What were the things that scared you as a child ?

For me it was a clown doll thing i had that was hanging off the celling in one of the corners of my bedroom, and the reason it unnerved me so much is that it always seemed like it stared directly at me no matter what angle i looked at it, and having something that would just stay there always staring into me was a really scary concept for child me.
