Yes it seems like there is a zone where you are tired and could fall right to sleep but if you stay up long enough it is like a second wind comes into you, you are still tired but you can't go to sleep.

The one thing I had to do was quit watching the clock that only made it worse because I had not gone to sleep yet, easy to say but the more you worry or think about it the harder it is to go to sleep, you have to trick yourself into thinking you don't care if you go to sleep or not. If it were real bad I would go ahead and get up and do a few things then try again. If it is your cycle then melatonin can help but you have to be real careful and take just a small amount and at the right time. The stuff you buy at the vitimin store is usually too large a dose

@Subsumedpat Yes so true you have to trick your body. The times when I didn't care or worry I fell asleep right away and then the times when I fret and watch the clock I never do. I noticed this.

@Mguinm Of course there are sleeping pills but they make me wet the bed.
