Is it embarrassing to have a fake Christmas tree?

Is it like a shameful act or is it acceptable in society? People at work were like “real trees only!” “The smell is vital!” and I was afraid to admit I had a fake one in the basement. I’m not sure if really want the house to smell like pine tree anyway? Am I the social outcast I always knew deep down that I actually am? For the record I grew up Jewish but now don’t follow any religion and a tree seems like a fun thing to have. But not a real one.

While the smell is nice, I've only had a real tree once....
It was a pain in the ass to keep it sufficiently watered and maintained to keep the tree staying healthy... plus keep the pets from getting their drinking water from there!! Ugh
Fake trees for me always!!

@SW-User I have enough pains in the ass so I’m happy to avoid this one
