I think one of the difficulties with social media is that some level of "crowd" like behaviour might happen, so inhibitions loosened from being hard to identify singly. That can tend to encourage extremes. Besides that, people seem to be on here to vent a lot, about anything and everything without necessarily thinking much about it first. So if there's something like a war going on, that's sadly affecting the lives of millions, potentially, we still get people shooting off their mouths like it's just another talking point. At least seems like that to me.
