One time someone thanked me for coming to a funeral of a loved one. I said “my pleasure” and said to myself what a stupid thing to say. I hope they forgot about it cause I sure feel dumb. But funerals make everything rather awkward no matter what u say bc the normal exchange of niceties are in a different context that doesn’t translate well.

@DoubleRings i am sure they thought nothing of it, funerals well for me have been a place where I am so numb i barely hear what anyone has said anyway.

@Morrigan I never know what to say in those contexts. You have to be so careful. I sometimes don’t even go to visitations cause it’s just so potentially awkward - unless I really knew the deceased, or someone close to them, I try to avoid
