Do you feel awkward or struggle with social niceties or etiquette?

I know it's polite to say you're welcome and I force myself to do it as I know some people get offended when you don't (let's not make all the replies all about one-upping me now, that I shouldn't alter who I am for others blah blah blah, let me decide what's right for me since I know myself best- tyvm). I personally just find it strange if what I did wasn't a big deal. No problem is an option too. I often reply no worries and I like that one the best. I appreciate when people say thank you so I feel I should say something back.

The other one that bothers me is paying at a restaurant, with other people, splitting the bill or knowing who is going to pay. It just gets so awkward and I wish I didn't have to deal with it. I'll always just try and tell people ahead of time that I'm paying, my treat, whatever and hope they don't try to pay it. I just don't want to talk about the bill after a pleasant meal.

Finally, when people compliment me about certain things it can get awkward. Sometimes I really don't enjoy it, sometimes I do but I often don't know how to respond.

It depends on the company and the duration. Social etiquette is fine but like everything else, there is the time, place and person.
