You know what's embarrassing? Having your card decline for a $5 purchase.

I was just trying to buy butter and some seasoning packets to make dinner. Ended up leaving empty handed. I have 44 cents to my name it seems. Swore I had at least $15 left.

I'm used to cash and always having cash on me. I don't carry plastic. Must be the age gap thing.

My generation only charge stuff for major purchase like a building. For vehicles, food, bills, mortgage and gasoline all was paid with cash from your pay check you got each Friday.

What you had left over you put that into a jar or a old coffee and saved it for the next big thing you needed.

I think too many people are dependent on plastic instead of cash these days.

I rather hold it in my hand, then trust a bank

@separatetheheart oh well i paid with a roll of quarters once and the lady took them out of the roll and counted them like she thought they wouldn't all be there 🙄
separatetheheart · 31-35, M
@GoFish At an old cashiering job we were told to do that because of people trying to be slick and rip the store off.

@separatetheheart oh i see.. i don't do that but i could see some might try to pull that
