I Hated Physical Education Class

I didn't hate most of the activities we did in PE, but I hated some of the business that went with it 😒

- having to wear gym knickers that made your bottom look huge, even when you were 16
- having to do all indoor activities in bare feet, even when it was freezing
- having to take a shower after every lesson with your classmates, even when you were not sweaty

😠

Having to run around in knickers when you forget kit.
Having to run cross country barefoot because it’s muddy.
Having after school pe detention

@KatieJ But the first and the third are probably avoidable . . so long as you are organised and a well behaved girl 😏

Thank GOD my PE class wasn't like this. We didn't have to shower and we didn't have to take off our shoes. We supplied our own uniforms so we could find our best fit (as long as the shirt was white and the shorts were black).

@DearAmbellina2113 That sounds much more practical than ours. Our school was obsessed with keeping a uniform that had been designed decades previously and with keeping the gym floor immaculate (no footwear allowed indoors) 🙄

I was fine with it,enjoyed tennis, cross country running and hockey most. The middle one I actually had a male teacher twice share the girls changing room with me too. Unusual I know but we were both ok with it. We were doing the runs after school and the boys was out of action so just made sense.x

Our floor was dusty at times too, in middle school through being where school assembly took place and in comprehensive school because some were still inclined to wear trainers. That didn't stop my feet from being bare though😉

@lizzielost Did you have to do all PE in bare feet, even on those chilly floors?
lizzielost · F
@GkB01 Yes, trainers were for outdoors only and we were not allowed to wear socks in case we slipped 🙄
GkB01 · 51-55, M
@lizzielost As I say, some wore trainers in our school gym, that meant the floor wasn't as clean as it could have been. It also meant those not wearing trainers (like me) had to be quite nimble to avoid our toe being trodden on😬lol.

I also because I have no reflex and other child laught of me

Similar at my school, bare feet for indoor p.e. and of course gymnastics. The floor was fairly clean, but dusty sometimes if you had a later lesson.

Bare feet was ok if the gym mats were down, but not great on the chilly wooden floor!
GkB01 · 51-55, M
@Adec757 I don't really remember a warm floor in our PE lessons.
