What are some things you like to learn about?

Is there something really deep and immersing you'd like to share with me?

Or can?

At various times in my life I take up hobbies, and learn all about them. In my time, I have learned about silver plated flatware, collectables of all kinds, rocks and minerals, and how to cut and polish rocks. I have learned lithography, how to cast aluminum in a forge, and how to sculpt and cast a plaster cast from clay. I learned how to tint agates in my oven, and how to carve wood. I learned which weeds could be used as herbs, and which weeds currently not in use were edible, and I learned organic gardening. I also learned all about creating family trees and how to research one's ancestors online.

Unfortunately, none of these things were deep. I was certainly immersed in them at the time. I have gradually drifted away from each one of those things...because in the end, they are all passing fads.

Love for Israeli heritage ☺ did you used to have a different profile on here before?
AverageMuslim · 26-30, M
@YoMomma yeah, I actually used to be a frequent here for years way back. I actually don't even remember how many years it's been since I dipped out. Like half a decade at least or something around there

It's nice to see so many people I used to wonder about doing well

@AverageMuslim ah ☺ that’s nice

History, sciency things, human interest.

@Thevy29 can you tell me some cool stats or facts you learned about recently? 👀

@AverageMuslim

About 0.3% of the solar energy from the Sahara Desert would be enough to power all of Europe.
There are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on all the world's beaches.
Humans have the same number of neck bones as giraffes. And a single person in two billion will live to be 116 or older. - Though you probably already heard of those.

Antonio Meucci is actually the inventor of the telephone. He first put a patent what was known at that time as a voice communication apparatus back in 1871. However when his patent expired in 1874, he went to go renew it. Except he fell ill on the ferry on the way and his invention was no longer protected by fraudulent claims. So Alexander Graham Bell, who was working at the patent office where Meucci paid his patents paid them off in his name and therefore became the inventor of the telephone. Meucci took Bell to trial but to no avail. The case was eventually dropped upon Meucci's death.

How to become quicker at sudoku
AverageMuslim · 26-30, M
@Gabber yeah, that's actually what I was asking about

If you learned any cool tips along the way at building this skill
Gabber · 22-25, F
@AverageMuslim oh, my bad (I need my reading glasses). I usually do this thing where I go row by row and column by column looking for digits that have only one possible place.
AverageMuslim · 26-30, M
@Gabber no worries yo

And tbh, I just be trying to see what combinations I can set up, so I guess it takes me a long while

@AverageMuslim For instance?
AverageMuslim · 26-30, M
@Bleak I love exploring geology and geography alongside the vast web of animal ecosystems. I get amazed at how beautifully nature is structured
Bleak · 36-40, F
@AverageMuslim I couldn’t agree more with you.

Why there are hook worms but no slice worms.
