Why do these things happen in the early am...

My 3 month old baby had a red spot about the size of a quarter on one cheek, that is warm to the touch. I noticed it showing up early afternoon at least, but not the warmth. I thought it was just a red cheek. He's acting fine, everything's normal, so I'm not going to rush to the ER but.... Anyone experience this with their baby? I'm not finding any super clear info online that is this specifically

I would check with a doctor in the morning. It could be so many things and it could be nothing. The concerning one would be cellulitis. It's not uncommon and needs treatment with antibiotics. In the absence of a fever or other signs of discomfort, and especially if baby is sleeping, then I would wait until morning but obviously if anything changes then you can adapt that plan.

@SW-User yeah cellulitis definition is what matches right now. Totally waiting til morning. He's asleep on my arm, never wake a sleeping baby 🤞

*I don't feel like it's going to be something that serious but we'll see

@Notsimilarreally wise words. Look around for bugs too. Not calling you dirty but bug bites look like that too. Spiders,ECT. And if it's just one..... Any new foods? But food, meds allergy usually start on tummy and can move as body moves it along. Down moving rash is better than up.
Yes check with Dr as long as baby is breathing well. Sleeping is another indicator that in this case is well.
Prayers for you both

If no other symptoms it could be as simple as eczemA. Obviously call doctor in the morning to check what’s up.
