Education began its decline when Jimmy Carter created the Dept of Education and federalized it.

@TexChik I’ve heard this…states still have a great deal more decision making power regarding policy.

@SW-User but would not receive federal funding if they did NOT follow their guidelines.

@TexChik I know the game really well.
Local taxpayers still have a great deal of sway in what happens in their community schools. They don’t act on things though.
