It’s better than kids not having access to education.

@MorbidCynic that’s true!

However, in this era, where the perception is that educators are overpaid and get summers off..
etc, etc..
Many people see the institution of education as being bloated with cash…which it isn’t

Self education is possible , at some point that work will have to be tested ..
@SW-User children can’t really self educate, and I don’t believe most parents have the skills. Studies show, the more educated a woman is, the less likely she is to have kids. So idk about trusting the parents tbh 💀

@MorbidCynic excellent points!
To clarify, I think it’s possibly to go back and fill in areas that we didn’t get in the first pass.
At some point in history, skills were developed, then schools were established to teach the skills ??

I am ok with fewer people on the planet💀..
For parents who have kids in schools now, they must understand that public schools are not babysitting programs.

They must model learning for their child to want to learn
@MorbidCynic I learned how to self educate myself from third grade on, my Grandfather taught me the fundamentals, always look for original sources, and to read anything and everything that interests me. I was already a voracious reader by then, having my own library card at the age of four.
@NativePortlander1970 so? Not everyone is you. I would not have been able to educate myself because I have learning disabilities. I NEEDED a teacher and a speech therapist because I was non-verbal until I was 4. I also had a neglectful family who would have taught me nothing. My own grandmother was illiterate until the day she died at 64.
