Would someone please tell the President of Columbia University to withdrawal her troops from Gaza?

Same for NYUs troops and the tanks from Cal State Humboldt. This ends now!

The whole free Palestine slogan is so funny to me. Palestinians cannot be free unless Hamas is gone but many Pro-Palestinian activists at these schools don’t see that and instead chant they love Hamas and want them to continue fighting.
@Puppycat23 maybe they need to get rid of both in order to be free, but they can only fight one fight at a time and Israel is by far the biggest threat right now and Hamas is on their side in that fight.

@NerdyPotato Palestinians generally support Hamas. Like college kids.
@Bumbles I would welcome anyone's help if someone is trying to kill me too. What I think of them after they save my life is something I'll worry about then. 🤷

@NerdyPotato Israel withdrew from Gaza. No one was trying to kill Palestinians. Hamas launched rockets into Israel.
@Bumbles Israel is leveling all of Gaza. And did they also withdraw from Westbank and all other Palestinian regions? No...

@NerdyPotato Israel left Gaza, then Hamas attacked Israel. Sounds fair to you, yes? You are also of the opinion Israel should leave Hamas alone it seems.

The West Bank is a different matter.

They are not leveling Gaza but yes there has been a lot of destruction. If they wanted to do that they could, though.
@Bumbles No, Israel has all the right to target Hamas after October 7th. But 90% of Palestinian casualties are civilians. That's not accidental collateral damage, that's part of the plan.

@NerdyPotato Hamas hides among civilians and could surrender tomorrow. They are responsible for the continuing suffering. Just like the Nazis refusal to surrender or Japan’s refusal to surrender.

It would not be in Israel’s best interest to have a program of killing civilians. Think about it. I’m not saying it never happened by individuals. It’s war.
@Bumbles so you're saying they only aim at Hamas members but their snipers and rockets are so bad they hit the wrong target 9 out of 10 times? Sure...🤣

@NerdyPotato I don’t stipulate it was always the wrong target. I’m sure it has been on occasion. The goal can’t and should not be zero civilian casualties. This would be a new standard for war and only applicable to Israel.
@Bumbles true, but nobody is asking for that. There is a HUGE range between zero collateral damage and 90% of all fatalities being "accidental" though.

@NerdyPotato True, and perhaps the rules of engagement were too broad. However, I have not seen it articulated what an acceptable figure would be. The argument against Israel is that it is committing genocide full stop and must stop further attacks against Hamas. That’s what a ceasefire would require.
@Bumbles me neither, and there will never be a figure that everyone finds acceptable other than zero. But I think we can all agree that 90% is absolutely unacceptable by far. If Israel comes up with a plan to target Hamas and only Hamas, they have my full support to execute that. But if their best tactic is to kill everything that moves like it is now, a full stop on both sides is the only sensible thing to give them time to think of something better.

@NerdyPotato I understand your position, and as I find it a reasoned one, even if I may disagree with the conclusion, no need to press farther. Thx.
