For people who dropped out of college

What was your epilogue? Why did you enroll ? Why did you drop out? What did you study and what do you do for a living now?

I studied Court Reporting. I loved reading, and that job was all about reading and re-reading. It wouldn’t have been considered rude or weird for me to be a fly on the wall at work either. It suited me.

I dropped out because I was moving out of state, and that program wasn’t available where I moved. So no transferring possible unless I switched to a different career, which I didn’t want to do.

Right now, I occasionally freelance edit or transcribe on Upwork. Before, I transcribed phone calls for the hearing impaired. When I start working officially again, I’d rather not do anything like this because it’s no longer interesting to me.

@Colonelmustardseed Court Reporting sounds really practical. I have few friends that are editors. Most of niche editors for a specific field and get more work offers then they can handle. Mostly for white papers as opposed to marketing material.
@robertsnj That’s pretty cool. Stressful, but it’s good that there’s always work.
