If the social life is you main concern, Your parents may not be so nice when they see your grades. In school you are going to interact with so many more people. I was a scholarship athlete and student. I was really only concerned with my school and grades. The social stuff happens by default. Going to the home football games is always exciting, then going out dancing (if you have a good fake ID) There are plenty of things there that will distract you and steal your attention away from why you are there. Have fun

@TexChik havent seen my parents in 5 years lol. Its not my main concern, but its my concern that I have the biggest fears with. I always made good grades in HS but was far too poor to go to college at 18

@Chocolatemilk But you can go now? Great! You will be a little more mature than your average Freshman I suspect. There are still plenty of people to interact with.

@TexChik i can afford it through grants and scholarships and now for the first time in my life I have spare money🥰

@Chocolatemilk A student's life is poverty. Since you are a little older, are you going to stay in a dorm or rent an apartment.?

@TexChik dorm, im only a couple years older but it feels like I really missed out

@Chocolatemilk really , hitting this with a bit more maturity is a gift, rather than a hindrance .

@TexChik it doesnt honestly feel that way

@Chocolatemilk Oh just wait till classes start. You are motivated to do well because you understand the ramifications of getting a good education and job. You will take good notes, and you will study ( probably all nighters) but you will get it done. What are you majoring in?
Chocolatemilk · 18-21, F
@TexChik undecided but theres a few things I like

@Chocolatemilk The best thing for you is to start with a plan, and then work it one week at a time. What interests you?
Chocolatemilk · 18-21, F
@TexChik engineering, education, hard sciences
TexChik · F
@Chocolatemilk What is a hard science?

@Chocolatemilk I loved chem and biology. I have a degree in both. I was accepted to medschool but my mother got sick and I declined my placement to be closer to her.
