I Don't Think a College Degree Always Indicates Intelligence
I am going to start a degree course in September. In my case it does not indicate intelligence. It’s Art and Design. A bit of intelligence and then create!

@Hepsie A college degree offers nothing you can’t learn yourself if you work at it.
However, the entire experience, new people, new ideas, a broadening of horizons, can be invaluable.
Professors are most often staunch defenders of the status quo in their field because they learned the status quo and don’t want to be obsolete.
Even while THEY were getting their degree, the world, and their field, was changing.
Learn what they know, for a foundation and history, but don’t take it as the be all and end all. They can’t teach you the future because it’s not in a book yet. You’re the future!
Above all, enjoy it!

I have no idea what MBA’s are. If they run the world they seem to be doing a good job. The world is beautiful. And as long as we all share our wealth and help each other it will be beautiful. Like don’t keep my country for ourselves. I love there are Polish girls in my class at school and Irish girls at college. @Abstraction

Having an MBA or PhD doesn’t make you an idiot if you’re not one to start with and it doesn't rescue you from being an idiot if you are.
The insistence on post-graduate education is fairly new (thirty years or so) and many people who ‘came up through the ranks’ were often passed over for promotion because although they had the experience, they didn’t have the degree. And those who didn’t come up the ladder had the degree but no Experience. It bred a lot of resentment and in many cases rightly so.
