You can only vote on one answer.
Wondering how many of you , with kids, feel about it and whether you out there, especially older/non kids, know that they aren't in many places. I understand it is coming back in some states.
I'd also like to know how they sign their name?
I'll put a poll if you just prefer to vote.

When I was a kid in Connecticut I learned cursive, but now I don't know if they are still doing that.

I didn't care at the time about learning it at all, but I am glad I did now that I am older.

I hear the average education situation now in the US is fairly bad, so I'm glad I don't have kids.

@GeistInTheMachine Looks like they brought it back in 2023.

Nope but my daughter taught herself how to do it and she learned short hand as well
Wasn’t a requirement. But they spent a lot of time making sure we could

In New York State it is not a state requirement however local school districts and individual schools may choose to teach it
This is the latest in Michigan AFAIK:

@SomeMichGuy interesting so it hasn't gone anywhere in 2 1/2 years? Nj passed law in 2022 requiring it be taught.
@sylvsn59 Looks like it.

Sad, when the State BoE cites how much it assists our brains!

I think if we switched to cursive handwriting and manual stick shifts we could paralyze a country LOL

Its taught briefly but isn't stressed and doesnt effect grades as it did in the past. Nor should it be in this day and age. It isnt nearly the important skill it once was.
