No cell phones permitted anymore at all in a lot of school systems across the US. That's expected to expand.

@Magicianzini And what happens if there is a school shooting and the child can't reach their parents??? Or guardian for that matter??

@masterofyou In the event of a lockdown, they should be too busy following the plan that they rehearsed to be phoning Mom/Dad anyway - and you parents are part of the problem blowing up their phones as soon as you hear anything about a lockdown.
Would you rather Johnny call you after lockdown, when he's safe or during the lockdown, when his voice is like a homing beacon for the shooter???

@HootyTheNightOwl have you ever heard of texting it can be very silent.... And usually the child should be trained in such tactics...

@masterofyou Have you ever heard of safety??? It's usually where they turn out ALL the lights so it's nice and dark and the shooter can't see which rooms are in use and which are empty.... and usually, the child should be trained in such tactics (though it's a shame that the same can't be said for their parents and grandparents).

@HootyTheNightOwl You can turn the brightness of the phone down ...... Most schools have requirements for lock down drills but it seems everytime a shooting happens they find out the school in question was delinquent in having the drills....

@masterofyou Hell knows.. I didn't make these policies.
