@sspec yes much i taught my children how to recite the alphabet but making the sign for each letter my oldest son has even taken to watching youtube videos to learn more asl on his own in the last year or so. i mentioned that to my coteachers today

@sspec funny i act learned to sign the alphabet in high school when i learned the spanish alphabet which my teacher used the asl alphabet making up signs for the extra letters found in the spanish language

@AthrillatheHunt last year was the first year our school had a toddler class and there was such a wait list for the class they decided to divide it to younger and older toddlers and add another class.

@AthrillatheHunt thats the plan my youngest son was in the older toddler class and already knows some stuff that kids in public school arent expected to know til kindergarten

@AthrillatheHunt our school believes in small teacher to student ratio and even the high school classes have 2 teachers in each class

@justanothername basics shapes, colors, counting and starting on letters. plus things about jesus cause were a christian school. and theres alot of learning through playing and games. its a 4 to 1 ratio with our students.

@justanothername in the us thats even before prekindergarten this is whats called a toddler class our school has 2 the one im teaching in which is from 18 months to about 2 and a half before the kids go to the older toddler class in our school they have to be potty trained they only come 3 days a week from 9 to 12 which works fine with me i have small children at home

@MarmeeMarch somewhat the two women im teaching with arent first year teachers but our school in the preschool years really focus on learning through play, games and music than direct instruction
