I wish I would’ve never gone to college.

It’s one of the biggest mistakes of my life. It was just a huge money scam. It’s designed to put young people in debt for the rest of their lives. I am no longer interested in the subject I majored in. I wish college was never forced on me. It’s stressful and depressing.

What was your major, and why do you think College was forced on you?

@StarletPea Statistically speaking, you will be less successful in life with a college degree.

The problem is when you either pick a major that's not a good fit for you, or you go into mega debt when you know your field of study is not going to be pay enough to cover your student loans. The basic rule is that you entire college debt should not exceed one year expected salary.

I don't think it's fair to blame college, unless it's a for profit school. A typical college has counselors that worth with students on figuring out what their passion is, and help them adjust their major, to get there.

You say you're no longer interested in your field of study. What kind of job did you hope to get when you were done with school?

@Northwest I wanted to work as a therapist or guidance counselor until finishing law school. Now I don’t wanna be a psychologist or a lawyer.

If you go to college to get a job you probably wasted your time and money. If you go to learn something you just might succeed at that.

@hunkalove I used to think college was about learning new things. It’s not. It’s all about money.
You can salvage your life, just concentrate on YOU and put together a life that YOU want. Your interests and skills will always be a plus. THere are so many choiices you still have...have u considered traveling or serving in the Peace Corps for a while or Teach For America perhaps?

Starting with YOU its easier to make a plan. Also you can maybe see the counseling dept for more guidance...

My parents really pushed it. I been in college for a while, mainly because I messed around my first couple of years and didn't take it seriously. Looking back, I definitely wish that I hadn't screwed around so much.
You don't receive a good education, you take it, own it, and it's yours for the rest of your life and no one can take it away from you. It is up to you what you do with it.
