馃our professor argues there is a link, I don't think so...

person here. can confirm: not linked. we're able to produce more than enough food per person all around the world, and, events like famines where people starved to death haven't happened that often. why do people starve to death? because of evil dictators and idiot politicians - not 'overpopulation'
JaggedLittlePill46-50, F
@tenente that ability will diminish the more we ignore climate change.

@tenente 14 million people starving in Yemen and that has fuck all to do with overpopulation. Food bank numbers here (uk) are rising at an alarming rate. That has fuck all to with overpopulation

@tenente
because of evil dictators and evil voters choosing & instructing politicians not to share
@JaggedLittlePill you think we're just going to give up trying to find new inventive ways of nourishing ourselves just because the climate is fucked?
JaggedLittlePill46-50, F
@tenente no, I don't. But I do think eventually we will HAVE to. It will be a necessity rather than something we do to advance the society.

@gol979 not linked b/c: food production has kept pace. starvation events are few and far between. war, poverty, exclusionary policies, no access to healthcare and evil dictators cause famines. hunger is less a problem in our biggest countries.

@JaggedLittlePill i've waited a long time to share this gif lolololololol

@JaggedLittlePill changing our food production processes are directly linked to climate change
JaggedLittlePill46-50, F
@tenente Lol..I am glad I could assist!

@gol979 Yes....in some ways we have already started in that direction. We still have many opposed to such things. Mainly I speak of the Non-GMO movement who believe those advancements are killing us all with chemikillz.

@JaggedLittlePill there's vertical farming too. And if the majority went vegan......would alleviate much of this problem
@tenente Good Point.
