Is Linguistics a career worth pursuing?

Of course, one must possess a certain level of enthusiasm for whatever career they choose for that career to prosper, of that I am certain. That aside, I want to know what you guys think about linguistics.

You'd have to get to the doctoral level and then teach it in a college or university.

Well that's sad. Can't afford that.

I looked at your profile and it says you are in the US. All state colleges and universities in the US do not charge residents of that state tuition. To make living while studying, many colleges have work/study programs. Many states have grant money if your income is low. And then there are various private scholarships. You can afford to go if that is what you want to do.

I have four college degrees with honors and no debt and a good credit rating. Most of my college degrees were gotten on grant money and scholarships plus work/study and other part time jobs. I also got a few loans here and there as an absolute last resort and have managed tp pay them off. You can get your degree if you want it. The longer you've been at it, the easier it is to get college money. You can go all the way to the doctoral level with no debt or minimum debt if you are determined.
