Did you ever have to fight a bully growing up?

A bully kept harassing me when I was in school. Every day he would walk up behind me and hit me in the back of my head with a book. One day I had enough. I followed him down the hall, knocked him to the floor from behind and slammed his face into the ground repeatedly. The Teachers had to pull me off. His face was bloodied and I broke his nose.

He never bothered me again.

I had more then my share of bullies from the start of school till the end. Most were verbal but I still had to fight every recess and lunch times. PE was worse for it too. They could hurt me in front of everyone and claim it was an accident.
My older Brother... erm. would hear about it and beat and bully me at home trying to make me stronger. He did go around to my bullies older siblings and beat them up each time I was bullied. And after the time I had been hospitalised after one beating my brother went after those bullies families. All the while not telling me that he was sticking up for me this way...
In the end it didn't matter if I fought back. There always seemed to be an endless supply of bullies waiting in line.
