Houdini’s Disappearing Act
It’s funny I nicknamed him Houdini as he magically vanished after a shitty excuse in text form.
4 weeks later of zero contact and he messages with:
“Hey, I know ya probably don't want to hear from me but just wanted to see how you are and apologize about everything. I honestly really hope your doing well and happy! Totally understand if ya don't reply! X”
I deleted all of his other messages and his phone number weeks ago and presumed I’d seen the last from him.
I have a habit of going through old messages and over analysing everything that was said to see what I did wrong or rereading their messages looking for clues or how I could’ve gotten the wrong idea etc.
I’m trying not to be that person. Not everything is about me and it’s not my fault that my heart can be too big for them to hold.
Fighting the urge to let him know how insecure and shitty he made me feel. That he should’ve talked to me especially after all the conversations we’d had about being honest with each other.
I want him to feel guilty and to realise he made a mistake. Don’t we all want that when a relationship ends? Even if that other person says exactly what we want them to it changes nothing.
