political cowards

i see johnson survived by the skin of his teeth last night last night . was this due to chief whip pressure or lack of conscience on some tory mp to do the right thing. johnson is mortal wounded can or will he survive to be prime minister at the next general election

It wasn't due to the Whips. They don't act on votes like this, and the voting was by ballot. (The news kept using the tautology, "secret ballot"!)

Previous prime ministers have survived such votes but been forced to resign eventually, so it's not unlikely he will have to follow suit.

@ArishMell johnson knows he is mortally wound stabbed in the back by his mps . he is a lame duck and hopefully in a matter of time they will find a successor

@smiler2012 You could well be right, Sadly most of them say he'd actually succeeded in the serious matters of State. Only then to bring himself down with this affair.
