Firstly... Who's the alternative? Problem us the landslide victory came on Johnson agenda of "Get Brexit Done" and "Levelling Up". Few alternatives that actually support that agenda well the second part especially. It is strange to live under the highest tax regime since pretty much WW2 and it be a Tory one and so many left wing policies in place (leveling up fund, furlough, energy profit levy etc).

Secondly Johnson is not noted for playing by the "accepted rules" so he'll only go kicking and screaming

@OldBrit rather as thatcher did in a way and that was good riddance . her cabinet stabbed her in the back big style . will johnson fall to the same fate as maybe more party gate revelations come to light

@smiler2012 I don't see it as his cabinet is a selected group of sycophants. He's moved the grandees like Hunt, Davies etc onto the backbenchs. He isn't a keep your enemies close type of operator. So I can't see a cabinet rebellion as likely at all.
Backbench vote strikes might be most effective tool now. Make it impossible for him to implement more controversial policies like breaking the NI protocol. But they still need him to resign now until next June and with the hubris of the man I simply cannot see that as a likely outcome.
