People who still do not grasp the basic concept that MAGA Republicans control the entire government at this point.

I literally saw someone blame the cuts in food stamp benefits on the Democrats, and she meant it. She legitimately thinks that it's Democrats cutting a program Republicans have been trying to get rid of my entire life. I can't even set her straight, because she has me blocked. That's not even the worst part. You know what the worst part is?

This woman, who is ignoring the last five decades of American history, has exactly the same right to vote as I do.

From a psychology stand point, trying to point out the falsehoods of a person’s internalized belief system only serves to make them dig in deeper and defend it.
Don’t argue. Don’t accuse. Instead, gently encourage them to look at the voting records of the party in question and just leave it there. If they were ever capable of independent rational thought, they *might* eventually do it. If not, no amount of facts will sway them.
