How oblivious can you be?

So I’m trying to get rid of someone but this person simply won’t stop messaging me and doesn’t understand I don’t want anything to do with them anymore. How nasty and mean do I have to get before he gets it? am I not being clear enough? I ended the relationship and he still doesn’t get it..,
