No, I’m not on steroids!

So this customer called me over to her at work today and said “ Excuse me, but are you on steroids?” I said “ no-why?” And she said “ because you have such a big fat face! Very puffy!” I was so shocked that anyone could be so rude. I’m not at all fat, but I have 2 mast cell diseases that make me swell u if I eat things I’m not supposed to eat. For those that don’t know- steroids cause people to have a “ moon face “ and that’s why the lady said that to me. It really hurt my feelings.

How odd to ask a stranger
SW-User
@Mardrae maybe she thought you were sick or taking prednisone
Mardrae · F
@SW-User yes, that’s what she asked me first- if I was on Prednisone, then she said steroids. Same thing. Prednisone is a steroid. Odd thing was my face didn’t look any fatter today than it normally does.
SW-User
@Mardrae sounds like she thought she could relate, since prednisone is so common

That was so cruel. ☹️
Mardrae · F
@Nitedoc yep! Ruined my day
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
@Mardrae I'm so sorry this happened to you. People can be so cruel. I wish I had the right words to comfort you. I know it hurt.

The best response: "No, I have a condition where certain foods do make my face puff out, but I am not on steroids. Thanks for your judgmental attitude it is not appreciated nor desired and it's very disgusting that you would even say that, good day ma'am, I said GOOD DAY!"
Mardrae · F
@Disgustedman I love that!
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
@Mardrae you're welcome I really hate it when we get judgmental people looking at your surface or your skin and not what's on inside.

Flabbergasting... beyond words
Horrible behavior. I hope all the trolling on the internet isn't spilling over into the real world.

Some people have absolutely NO filter and it's rude af. Not cute.
Mardrae · F
@DearAmbellina2113 I totally agree. No telling what she might have said if she had seen my whole face, but I did have a mask on.
Eyeinthesky · 56-60, F
I don't know what is rude people's intention for saying such things to a total stranger..
I hope it never happen again but if it does, come back with a witty remarks on them right away.🤭

A random stranger told me I look like a midget next to my husband who is 6'3..... it wasn't funny🥴
Mardrae · F
@Eyeinthesky yeah I guess maybe it makes people feel better about themselves to cut other people down.
Eyeinthesky · 56-60, F
@Mardrae We WON'T let them succeed that from now on...🤗
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
Either way that was a very rude and stupid way to address you or anyone for that matter. I do not understand some folks.

I had a person that saw my comment on a post two days ago stating I would love to find a woman that would like to Date a person like me, and my life would be complete. That idiot private message me that he allowed his girlfriend to meet and hook up with a trans gender male to female, and that later he joined in for a three some. I was like what the hell, I said a woman, and I meant monogamy and nothing else to do with another male or penis. Then he got offended. I was like suck it up and block me before I block you damn it.

People can be so damn self-serving in my situation to so self-righteous in yours not even thinking we have our own feelings and thoughts. Err.

And bless you, sorry for my rant.
Mardrae · F
@WillaKissing feel free to rant anytime!!!
How rude, crazy
Mardrae · F
@Spoiledbrat exactly
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
It doesn't matter what you look like, she must be mentally challenged to make such a remark.
Mardrae · F
@MartinTheFirst probably so. I won’t be so nice next time
