Did you know that Ontario is spending millions of dollars every single day for their "Suck Up to the USA" commercials?

The commercials began after President Trump told Trudeau that he might impose tariffs if Trudeau didn't step up security on the Canadian border. Trudeau quickly complied, but Trump teased him heavily, calling him "Governor" of our Canadian "State".

THEN came the commercials. They are propaganda light. They come on television SO often that it verges on an attempt at brainwashing. They are all about how Ontario is our friendly neighbor and ally to the north, and partners in business and in our economy, and how they have all sorts of minerals we need for tech, and how they have so much energy up there to share.

I don't know if you have seen the commercials...but I am beginning to get angry about them. There is NO NEED for us to be subjected to this constant bombardment. My brain REFUSES to be washed...and Ontario is accomplishing the OPPOSITE of what they intended.

If you have seen the Ontario commercials, you know what I mean. Do YOU feel the same way that I do?

@4meAndyou The difference between Trump and hack politicians is simply. Trump will start with outlandish statements and push the issue. But he's always willing to negotiate from the position of strength that he establishes early on. And if his opposition doesn't care to negotiate, he'll follow through with his initial aim. Other countries know it and are quick to react. That's a far cry from where we are now.

@carpediem When I voted for Trump in 2016, I KNEW he had that "crazy" streak. And the nice thing was that other world leaders knew it, too!

@4meAndyou it was the same with Reagan. With no basis the narrative was that he was this trigger happy, nihilist war monger.

Like most normal people he just hated commies. Nothing more, nothing less

He let them believe that and always dealt from strength 👍

@Thrust Reagan was awesome. I wish I could remember him better. I didn't pay much attention to politics back in those days. I was too busy working.
