I hate the way every time there is some kind of shooting/serial killing incident by some off-balance lone individual anywhere around the world,

someone I know jokes, "I first thought it was you." They then say, "Just kidding." This same thing happens each time. Just because I may have a trace of residual social anxiety, I am not some social misfit with off-balance issues. So, I really don't get the joke.
