Those medics have the patience of saints. My wife, who is a nurse, tends to be more blunt when dealing with patents who will not listen to medical advice or rationally interpret evidence. A nasty side effect of rubella (German measles) is to make girls infertile . . if it doesn't actually kill you it can still turn a child's life upside down.
@SunshineGirl The list of serious side effects and complications from measles, mumps, and German measles is quite long—and guess what? Completely avoidable with a couple of shots.

Decades of data worldwide supports this.

As a kid, we were taken to other kids who had it, so we could get over it and carry on. Now, scientists are baffled.
@Wireman Yeah—the “measles parties” are a terrible idea these days. There are serious complications with community acquired measles that can be easily avoided these days with the safe, effective, and cheap MMR vaccination.

We’re not in the 1950’s anymore.

What’s more, those same parents who are doing that these days probably haven’t vaccinated their kids with other vaccines such as polio and hepatitis B.

@KunsanVeteran Safe and efficient. I have heard that a couple of times.

It's beyond me how in a supposedly educated country a movement could arise encouraging people to forgo vaccinations. What? Oh yeah, MAGA.

@MoveAlong MAGA can do it 😆
