Ever heard of Comirnaty?

It is the FDA approved covid vax that Pfizer was about to manufacture. Sadly Pfizer never did manufacture it and thus never sold it. Pfizer only made the vax that has Emergency Use authorization. It appears that Pfizer's lawyers are smarter than their research counterparts.

From a business standpoint it makes perfect sense.

you're building a vaccine that the govmint has pretty much ordered you to build.

You'll be bypassing tons of testing and crossing your fingers that it doesn't start producing 6 fingered babies.

So the govmint gives you a pass if you'll just get it out there and hope for the best.

Why would you bring out a drug that will take way production facilities and not give you the same financial/legal protections?
