If they come out with a Covid vaccine, how effective will it be?

Will it be like the flu vaccine? Many take it and still catch the flu.

I know I don't want to be the first to get the vaccine until I know many have safely received it first.
@Peapod and no knows if the vaccine will be safe for them until they have received it.And then it’s a bit late.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales Very true. I would imagine it would have to be relatively safe before they can roll it out, but given my own health issues like asthma, I am not willing to try it just yet. I'm happy wearing a mask and doing all the precautions as usual. It is amazing that I have not even caught a cold since doing all this. 😀

@Peapod Masks and the common covid prevention strategies have led to very low flu numbers and common colds are pretty rare among mask wearers as well.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Indeed and I am quite comfortable wearing one now.

If nothing else, covid prevention should make us all healthier in general.
@Peapod the other evening I was listening to a talk show and they were on about a report that came out in 2013.It was presented to the British government and ignored. It said the wearing of masks should be made compulsory to reduce the transmission of seasonal flu.The question was asked as to why no one thought that was a good idea.
I fear the wearing of masks will be will be with us for evermore which essentially renders me blind on public transport and in shops as it is impossible to stop my glasses getting fogged! We don’t as yet have to wear them in the open air.If that happens I won’t be able to go out at all!

@TheSirfurryanimalWales I thoroughly expect to be wearing them for sometime to come and I often sew up a new one to match an outfit I have. It seems silly, but it has helped me personally to accept them as part of my everyday life. I think I would feel naked without one.

With that said, I sure feel for you with the fogged up glasses deal. It's a very real problem for any of us that need them.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales As someone who has had the same issue for some time I may have a little advice. First, try different mask designs.. Those with a valve/vent on them often allow more air to find another way out.. Second, if the mask has a metal strip where the nose fits, shaping it hard against the nose will reduce air flow there. And you may find it possible to place your glasses on your hose with the mask between your nose and glasses, which also helps.
In addition I have new personal crack pot theory that if the glasses are warmed first. less condensation will form on them.😷
