If they come out with a Covid vaccine, how effective will it be?

Will it be like the flu vaccine? Many take it and still catch the flu.

maybe. the good thing about getting the flu shot is, even if you still catch the flu, it's severity is mitigated. that would be highly beneficial in the case of covid.

@pentacorn That is a good point.

@pentacorn I never miss a flu shot after having full blown flu that went into my lungs and caused pneumonia. I am happy to say I have not had flu ever since and if I did, it was mild enough to not even really notice.

@Peapod that's what got me getting one every year too. i got the flu one year and i felt like i was dying for two weeks. that's when i started taking vit D and black elderberry during flu season, and getting the shot every Oct. i'll be getting mine next month on the 7th. i've never had the flu since i started getting it either.

@pentacorn The flu is still quite dangerous too, especially if it turns into pneumonia. I too felt like I was dying.

@Peapod yes, it is. if there were ever a year to get a flu shot, it's this year. imagine having both the flu and covid. 😱 talk about nightmare scenario.

@pentacorn I cannot imagine! When I got my flu and pneumonia shot, the pharmacist told me that a lot more people are getting the vaccines this year. I wasted no time getting mine because I sure would hate to find out they ran out of vaccines in a year like this.

@Peapod ohmygosh... i hadn't thought of a potential shortage this year. well, my doc will surely hold one for me. she's the best. can't wait to get in to get it.
