It was an interesting read but I see countless problems.

Scientifically speaking, it really does not show that Parkinson’s disease is reversed. It shows that symptoms can be temporarily improved in simplified animal models that do not reflect how Parkinson’s develops and progresses in humans.

What they are describing as “restoring” dopamine neurons is more likely the reactivation of cells that were already damaged but not dead. Not the creation of new neurons or the rebuilding of lost brain connections.

The method itself relies on heating neurons and triggering specific receptors whose presence and safety in the human brain are uncertain, and repeated heating may itself causes long term damage.

Clearing protin clumps linked to Parkinson’s addresses only one visible feature of the disease, not the deeper causes such as ongoing inflammation, energy failure in cells, and gradual network breakdown. All of that is ignored.

And why they called it “wireless,” it still requires invasive brain injections, lacks long term safety data, and has not shown lasting benefit. It an impressive laboratory experiment but not convincing evidence of a real possible reversal.

@Miram The point of this I think is that its a dual approach system that's showed some evidence of working. It'll be a long slog to clinical trials if it ever gets there.

Most therapies don't, but I think what we can take away is the baseline has been established proving something is workable.
