Do you hate yourself for having bad genes?

Like carrying genetic illness that runs in your family. No one wants their children having illness, right? How do you cope the feeling when finding out your child's illness?
Have ever occured in your thoughts that you feel like you don't deserve or scared to procreate?

Thankfully kids are optional and despite what most people would have you believe. There’s nothing wrong with just not having them.

When I was a child, they thought I had a pretty nasty autoimmune disease based on my having a number of the indicators. My parents must have been scared but they kept up a positive front. I of course, being me, looked it up and found out that most with that disease would die in a truly awful fashion around age 30.

Fortunately, since I'm still here, it appears I was misdiagnosed.

Mum had one bad gene. Dad had the other. There was a 1 in a very large number that the two what pass on to their kids. I have em, my brothers don't. And there is a 50/50 chance that I would pass it on to my kids. So I chose to not have any. It sucks but there it is...

I'm chronically ill and have no plans on having kids. They're not even certain if it's genetic or not but I'm unwilling to take the risk.
